Greenfield resident, Sergio Ramirez, 25, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 9 for failing to yield to Soledad police officers after allegedly recklessly driving and ramming a gate at the Correctional Training Facility (CTF) in Soledad, according to police.
At around 10:30pm on Sunday, Soledad police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving, according to the Soledad Police Department. The driver, now identified as Ramirez, failed to yield and fled from officers, police said.
A short time later, officers were dispatched to the CTF where the staff had located the vehicle on facility grounds. According to police, Ramirez was uncooperative and refused to provide identification or other information and also declined to exit the vehicle, subsequently ramming into a secured CTF gate causing damage.
Officers utilized less-lethal options to safely remove Ramirez from the vehicle and take him into custody, according to the Soledad Police Department.
Ramirez was medically assessed and cleared and is currently booked into the Monterey County Jail.
